I was lucky enough to be selected to be one of the TCM Ambassadors during the 10th Anniversary of the TCM Classic Film Festival. One of my hotel mates brought sashes with her, which was a hilarious idea. Now, I was too shy to wear mine out among the throng of film fans. But I did take my job seriously. I tried to ‘cover the waterfront’ with TCMFF moments: trivia contests, new venue, interactive green screen, interview, intros, poolside screenings and just queueing up. Again, a picture is worth a thousands words. So let me quit gabbing here, and share the photos I took during the festival. Thank you, TCM, for the chance to showcase and represent you.

Though not an ‘official’ TCM event, what many of us have woven into our pre~fest activities is attending Kimberly Truhler’s fashion lecture where she presents the fashions and designers in a slide presentation, of the films programmed for the TCMFF. Hey, it’s always a packed house and I’ve learned a lot. I can only tell you…be there or be square. Read all about it by clicking on her photo.

The newest venue in the TCMFF repertoire, the Legion Theater 43

I got a chance to go to the old American Legion Hollywood Post 43 and tour it before the festival started. Saw what they could do film projection wise with DCP, 35mm and 70mm. Phenomenal. And uhhhh, theres a bar too!

Here is the projectionist for the Legion Theatre

The Czar of Noir Eddie Muller interviews actress Patty McCormack before the screening of her riveting 1956 movie “The Bad Seed

For me seeing “The Bad Seed” on the big screen, even in the relaxed setting of warm breezes and martinis, served to amplify the psychotic nature of Rhoda.

Poolside Screening of “THE OPPOSITE SEX”

I decided to forego an entire block of films, to wait on line for “SUNRISE” which I think is going to be very popular ~ I need to get in there.
