The doorbell rings. She’s already seen through the window. He thinks this is Claude’s wife and she answers as such.

George: “Your husband sent me to pick up the envelope. It’s in his desk. He said he spoke to you a little while ago, from the club? I’m a caddy out there.”

George: “Guy my age, two years of Junior College. Best I can make as a caddy.”
Margo: “That’s too bad.”
George: “Yeah. Well there are always little things on the side.”
Margo: “Here.”

Margo hands the caddy an envelope full of money, which he counts.

George: “Like this. Two thousand bucks. Man of his word.”
Margo:  “Who?”

George: “Your husband. But why he wants to get rid of a dish like you I don’t figure.”

Margo: “What?!”

George: “Yeah. Ain’t that a gas?”
